Dior Vintage 1980s Faux Pearl Medallion Bow Pendant

Description

Gold-tone metal medallion and bow pendant from the 1980s with a pierced “CD” monogram at the center, set above a large oval faux pearl cabochon in a ridged double-frame bezel. Suspended from a gold-tone rope chain. Made in Europe. A bow-and-medallion pairing like this one sits right at the heart of what’s defining Dior today — creative director Jonathan Anderson has built his tenure at the house on reworking pieces straight from the archives, and the bow motif paired with medallions has become one of his signatures since his debut collection. This is an original vintage example of the same codes he’s currently reviving.

Why it’s Rare

Vintage Dior pieces with the CD monogram cut directly into the metalwork, rather than stamped or enameled, were produced in smaller runs and are increasingly difficult to find in this condition, making this a genuinely rare survivor from the era.
